YPG Bay Area: Letterpress Notebook Workshop
YPG Bay Area and Open Windows Cooperative invite you to attend a Letterpress Notebook Workshop on Saturday, April 28th, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (cost is $30, all materials provided).
Join publishing colleagues to learn the basics of letterpress printing and bookbinding using 19th century equipment. Led by Ava Sayaka Rosen at Open Windows Cooperative (a community print shop, bindery, and collaboration space located in SF’s Bayview district), we’ll learn how to set type, print on a Chandler & Price printing press, and then bind a book using a pamphlet stitch.
You’ll come away with your very own blank notebook with a letterpressed cover and a deeper understanding of the book as a physical object, and will meet like-minded folks from the publishing industry in the process!
