YPG Cares: Literacy Partners Happy Hour & Book Drive
Celebrate happy hour at Local 138 with a book donation for Literacy Partners, an organization which believes that every child should have access to books at home.
What: Literacy Partners Happy Hour/Book Drive
When: Thursday, February 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Local 138, at 138 Ludlow Street
What to bring: New or gently used books for readers up to 18 years old, wrapped as blind date books
Not sure what a blind date book is? No problem! It’s when a book is wrapped in plain paper and labeled with key information like genre, appropriate age group, atmosphere of the book, or similar books/authors. If you’re not sure how to label a book, don’t worry! Bring it along and ask other YPGers for their thoughts.
Please make sure that you include a sticky note on the outside of the wrapping that includes the book title and author so Literacy Partners can verify that the book is appropriate for their readers. Check out literacypartners.org to learn more information about this organization.
