REcNJ6slHave you always felt a deep connection to Lizzie McGuire’s cartoon thoughts? Do you often find yourself in heated arguments about how Rory was ALWAYS meant to be with Jess rather than moody Dean? If so, come embrace your frosted tips and butterfly clips from middle school days by supporting 826NYC!

Bring a book or two to the Crocodile Lounge (325 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003) from 5 pm-8 pm on Wednesday, July 20th  to celebrate the summer and hear more about826NYC.  This is a wonderful organization started by Dave Eggers that provides tutoring and workshops for kids, as well as the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. They are currently in the process of opening a new location at a middle school in Harlem that needs books for their library.

Crocodile Lounge is conveniently close to Barnes & Noble Union Square and The Strand Bookstore, so grab a cheap ( age-appropriate) book from the shop or your personal collection to donate. Drinks come with a free pizza (that’s right!), and did we mention Skeeball? No? SKEEBALL! Bonus: Whoever has the most cringe-worthy photo from Middle School will also win an undisclosed prize… See you there, superheroes!

RSVP here and feel free to bring a friend. This is a charitable event and any/all book donations are appreciated. If you can’t bring a book, that’s fine as well. Come for a drink, toast a good cause, and spread the work about Young to Publishing and 826NYC. If you have any questions, wish to donate books at another time. or want more info on getting involved with 826NYC, please contact lauren.k.rogers1@gmail.com.
