Working with high-profile authors can change the name of the game, and we are bringing in publishing experts from different departments who have the background knowledge of working with celebrities and their teams to talk about how to work efficiently on high-profile celebrity books. Dina Sherman has been the Director of School and Library Marketing at Disney-Hyperion since 2009. Prior to that, she was the School & Library Senior Marketing Manager at HarperCollins Children’s Books. Dina has worked with Julie Andrews, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeff Foxworthy, Jenna & Laura Bush, Queen Rania of Jordan, Stan Lee, and Caroline Kennedy.
Casey Ward is the Director of Events, Random House Children’s Books, and has been with the Random House Children’s Books publicity department since 2007. She has worked on such international sensations as the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini and Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief as well as several celebrity author books, including Jason Segel’s Nightmares!, transgender advocate Jazz Jennings’ upcoming memoir, and Julianne Moore’s Freckleface Strawberry books.
Krista Marino is an Executive Editor at Delacorte Press (Random House Children’s Books) where she acquires and edits young adult and middle grade fiction. Some of the books on her list include the Nightmares! series by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller, the Maze Runner series by James Dashner, and the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson.
