IMG_0428-1170x475YPG Cares has been invited to join the Children’s Book Council’s Early Career Committee (ECC) for a fun afternoon volunteering at Camp Win. Every summer Women In Need NYC gives homeless children the break they deserve with Camp Win! This year, we’re joining them by hosting an afternoon of good ole’ bookish fun for around 30 kids, ages 5 to 15, and are looking for volunteers to read, craft, and share their love of kid lit!

  • When:  Friday, August 21st from 2:00-4:00pm
  • Where:  Camp Win Manhattan in East Harlem (104 St. (between 1st and 2nd Aves.), 6 train to 103 St.)
  • RSVP HERE TO VOLUNTEER.

Win transforms the lives of New York City homeless women and their children by providing a holistic solution of safe housing, critical services, and ground-breaking programs they need to succeed on their own — so the women can regain their independence and their children can look forward to a brighter future. All Win families include one or more minor children and nearly all are headed by a single mother. Helping these mothers nurture their children is the primary goal of all of Win’s children’s programs — from babies through teens. Programs like Camp Win offer homework help, group activities such as games, arts and crafts, dance and literacy projects, and special field trips throughout the city. While children are cared for, their mothers are able to focus on their education, skills training, and job search.
