YPG Invited to WNBA-NYC Panel: Exploring the Intersection of Literary and Commercial Fiction
The Women’s National Book Association invites the YPG to join for a panel co-sponsored by the NYU Creative Writing Program on Friday, March 27th from 5:00-7:00pm at the NYU Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House (58 W. 10th Street, NYC). Come hear five amazing panelists discuss questions such as: Is it the balance between character and plot or the artful use of language that distinguishes literary from commercial fiction? Is it the subject matter that determines whether a novel is considered mainstream? What are examples of successful novels that straddle the divide between commercial and literary? Is hitting the sweet spot the key to getting your fiction published? And where does the phenomenon of the crossover YA novel fit in? These questions and more will be examined by our distinguished panel of editors and agents: Suzanne Gluck, Melissa Flashman, Seth Fishman, Amy Einhorn, and Harriet Shenkman. To RSVP or for more information visit the WNBA event page. Attendance is free and YPG members of all genders are welcome.
