FREE Brown Bag Luncheon: Librarians in Publishing Organizations

Cincopa video hosting solution for your website. Another great product from Cincopa Send Files.

If you would like the opportunity to network with other staff in the professional and scholarly publishing arena, meet your peers and find out what they’re doing and learn about in-house librarian functions then this FREE (for AAP members) luncheon talk is for you! Join us on Thursday, November 20th from 12:00pm-1:30pm at the AAP New York offices (71 Fifth Avenue, 2nd floor, between 14th & 15th Streets) for the opportunity to listen to three senior professionals in the industry who will answer the following questions:

  • Why is a librarian a critical part of a publishing organization?
  • What roles does a librarian fill within a publishing organization?
  • How do in-house librarians liaise with editorial, sales and marketing departments?
  • How has the librarian’s role changed through new technology and trends?
  • How do librarians interact with the customer/end user?
  • Career options — different types of librarians — academic, corporate, public.
  • How do librarians support research and analysis?
  • How many hats can an in-house librarian wear?

The luncheon will end with another opportunity to speak with your colleagues (specifically those in the Professional and Scholarly Publishing field) and the presenters.
