YPG Joins Lit Crawl NYC
Come join YPG and Manhattan’s downtown literati as we partner with Lit Crawl NYC on Saturday, September 13th for an evening of drinky, bookish festivities. What’s Lit Crawl? “It’s like a pub crawl… with authors!”
We’ll group-crawl to three of the participating events listed below (check out the full schedule here, in case something off the YPG crawl strikes your fancy and you’d rather go rogue):
PHASE ONE (6:00-6:45pm): Electric Literature and Black Balloon Present Literary Taboo
(Solas, 232 E 9th St.)
Can you describe The Goldfinch without saying “Donna Tartt,” “painting,” “Las Vegas,” “The Secret History,” or “Pulitzer Prize?” Team captains Catherine Lacey and Kevin Clouther.
PHASE TWO (7:00-7:45pm): Smartly Funny with Dan Wilbur
Crime Scene Lounge (21+) 310 Bowery
Dan Wilbur (Better Book Titles, Someecards editor) brings his favorite writer/comedians to the stage for the smartest comedy the world’s ever seen.
PHASE THREE (8:15-9:00pm): The National Book Foundation Presents: Literary Pictionary
Fontana’s (21+) 105 Eldridge Street
Tiphanie Yanique, a 5 Under 35 honoree and author of Land of Love and Drowning, hosts literature-inspired Pictionary. Win free books and tote bags!
THE AFTER PARTY: (9:00pm to PARTY AM)
The Magician (21+) 118 Rivington Street
We did it, you guys.
New York’s Lit Crawl is a madcap concept first created by San Francisco’s Litquake literary festival back in 2004. The inaugural Lit Crawl NYC took place in September 2008 and has grown into a lively, wildly popular—and FREE—annual event. Learn more at litcrawl.org/nyc. Games, readings, booze and literary fun are in store. RSVP HERE and we’ll keep you in the loop!
