Ever considered going back to school to learn more about books, the book industry, and how you can be a better-rounded young professional? For those seeking information about the wonderful publishing programs on offer in New York, look no further! This month, we have convened a panel of the heads of the NYU, Pace University, and CUNY Publishing Institute programs to talk to you about their courses and to answer all of your questions. Come find out which program might be right for you!

Our panelists:

·         Jane Kinney-Denning serves as the Executive Director of Internships and Corporate Outreach for the MS in Publishing program at Pace University. Jane has a Masters of Arts degree in Italian Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has previously held positions at HarperCollins Publishers, CRC Press, CV Mosby, and Van Nostrand Reinhold.  She is currently the President of the New York City chapter of the Women’s National Book Association.

  • John Oakes is the founder and director of the CUNY Publishing Institute as well as the co-founder of OR Books. John previously was an editor at Grove Press and Henry Holt and publisher of the indie press Four Walls Eight Windows. He is a trustee and the treasurer of P.E.N. American Center and has written for the Associated Press and the International Herald Tribune.

This event will take place at the AAP offices (71 Fifth Avenue, 2nd floor) on Thursday, January 30, from 12:30-1:30pm. RSVP HERE!
