AAP/PSP Lunch: Introduction to Open Access
YPG members with between 0-3 years experience in any department of a professional and scholarly publishing (PSP) organization are invited to join a FREE Brown Bag Luncheon on Open Access, to take place on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013 from 12:00pm-1:30pm at the AAP New York Offices (71 Fifth Avenue, 2nd Floor). If you would like the opportunity to network with other staff in the professional and scholarly publishing arena, meet your peers and find out what they’re doing, and learn about open access—then this free luncheon talk is for you!
The talk will begin with an introduction to open access and a brief timeline, including a discussion on definitions, market size and growth, key players, models, licensing and copyright issues. By the end of the session you will have a good understanding of the concept, principles and approaches to open access, open access landscape and market drivers, and current and future impact on scholarly communications. Hear from guest speakers Rachel Burley, Vice President and Director, Open Access, Wiley Blackwell, and Anna Salt Troise, Director, Medical Publishing, Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research.
This is a free event but you will need to sign up as space is limited. To RSVP for this event please Register Here.
