YPG Book to Film Club: Silver Linings Playbook
Thanks to those of you who joined us for our last film club viewing and discussion of THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by Stephen Chbosky. Our next YPG Book to Film Club selection is SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK , based on the novel by Matthew Quick (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2008). In this daring dramedy, former teacher Pat struggles with living with his parents and coming to terms with his ex-wife after a stint in a mental institution. When he befriends Tiffany, a mysterious young widow with issues of her own, their offbeat lives get even more complicated. The 2012 film was directed by David O. Russell and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro and Jacki Weaver. All four actors received Oscar nominations and Lawrence recently took home gold for Best Actress!
