The Resumé Of Your Dreams: What You Need To Know To Make Your C.V. The Best It Can Be
When it comes to perfecting your resumé, we know you have a lot of questions: How do I highlight experience AND achievement? What keywords will grab HR’s attention? Should I mention my extracurricular activities or hobbies? What are the biggest red flags to avoid? Which is why we are hosting an after-work event to help! Courin Counehan of Macmillan, Allison Parker of Random House, and Eileen Manito of Simon & Schuster will be on hand to address all of these issues and more; the panel will be moderated by YPG Planning Committee Chair Sara Sargent. We encourage you to come armed with plenty of questions, or submit them online through the form below. We are also offering attendees the opportunity to submit their resumes in advance and potentially have them critiqued; from those submitted, we will randomly select a handful. Although resumes will be anonymous, they will be critiqued in front of the group, so please be aware of this when you submit yours.
The presentation, Q&A, and discussion will take place on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:30-8:00pm at the AAP offices (71 5th Avenue, 2nd floor). Please RSVP HERE and submit any questions you’d like answered. If you’d like to offer your resume for potential critique, email it to “a href=”mailto:youngtopublishing@gmail.com”>youngtopublishing@gmail.com with the subject line “Resumé for May 14th event.”
