YPG December BBL: Not Your Grandmother’s Publishing Experience: An Author’s Path from Self-Pub to Traditional Pub
This spring, we saw it with Fifty Shades of Grey. Years ago, we saw it with The Shack. And now, we see it all the time: an author hits big in the self-publishing world and skyrockets to the top of Amazon’s bestseller list, then soon finds himself or herself with a traditional book deal. But have you ever wondered why these authors take their self-published hits and sell them to a traditional publisher? Or, how about agents and editors—when do they decide that a self-published title is worth representing or buying? As self-publishing becomes increasingly popular, we thought it was time to host a BBL on books that make the transition from self-publishing to traditional publishing. So join YPG on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 12:30-1:30pm at HarperCollins Publishers (10 E. 53rd St. between 5th and Madison Aves.) for a fascinating panel on this hot-button topic!
