YPG Spends A Summer Night at White Horse Tavern
On Thursday, July 28th, 2011, approximately 60 YPG professionals from 11 AAP member houses gathered at the White Horse Tavern for the latest YPG Summer Nights event, the second in an ongoing series of literary themed happy hour outings. In contrast to the previously held kick-off event that took place at Pete’s Tavern, the preferred drinking spot of O. Henry, this event was held at a bar famous for its rowdy beat generation clientele. Jack Kerouac and Bob Dylan, in addition to several other counterculture icons of the 50’s and 60’s, are said to have frequented (and been kicked out of) the White Horse Tavern. Though certainly not rowdy, YPG members proved to possess energy and longevity, with many new and familiar faces remaining at the tavern past dark. Once again, it can firmly be said that a good time was had by all.
