The YPG’s community service initiative, YPG Cares, was formed to promote our mission to give junior employees a chance to build a network outside of their own publishing houses and to support literacy-related intiatives in New York City’s volunteer community.
On April 11, 2012, at 7:00pm, about 20 YPG members from 11 AAP member companies and a handful of agencies met up with the Story Pirates for their fifth collaborative Story Love adventure. They are a group that consistently shows how much YPG Cares!

During the weekend of March 9, 2012, nearly twenty YPG Cares members helped Project Cicero at their annual nonprofit book drive. Through their efforts over the years, over 1,650,000 new and gently books have been distributed to 9,500 classrooms, reaching nearly 400,000 students!

This past summer, members of YPG Cares spent their Summer Fridays at Mt. Sinai Children's Hospital reading to a group of sick young children as part of the Reach Out and Read program. Opportunities to volunteer will be back this summer--stay tuned!
